Half Empty Half Full was launched in 2002 in an effort to finally put a name to freelance design work that I had been doing for friends and area bands. Up to that point, I was very involved in the local music scene, and had been designing cd covers, flyers and t-shirts for several years.
After a few discussions about collaborating with my sister Kiersten, I decided on the moniker Half Empty Half Full. Why, you ask? Honestly, I don't really know. It had a nice ring to it I suppose. And I like to drink water, so I guess it just fit.
Shortly thereafter, he-hf.com was registered and a coming soon page was created; which resided there for the next 5+ years. So yes... as sad as it may seem, you are technically looking at he-hf v1.0. Pretty pathetic, I know. But, please don't take that the wrong way. I'm certainly not lazy or apathetic. Quite the opposite actually. In fact, I've been employed at the same company for the last 11+ years, and I'd like to think that they wouldn't have kept me that long if I was a do-nothing no-good slacker.
Anyways, a few other things to note about me:
- I really enjoy heavy metal.
- I'm typically unshaven (or more than likely, sporting a full beard).
- Definitely a t-shirt & jeans kinda guy (but I'll dress up if I need to).
- Despite how the above items may make me seem, I don't drink, smoke or do drugs.
- I'm a horrible speller, and often forget to use spell check.
- I have a wonderful girlfriend who is a great photographer.
- When time permits, Kiersten and I are going to collaborate on a children's book.
- I'm listening to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" as I type this.
So... if you're considering a freelance designer, take a look around, download my resume, and get in touch. I'd love to fire up the right side of my brain for you.
